D-Connect meet-ups are friendly, relaxed catch-ups designed by and for people with disability, with lived experience at the heart of each meet-up.

Come along to meet new people, connect with others, share experiences and find out what's happening across the community. Whether you're a regular or joining D-Connect for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Family members, carers, friends and community members are also welcome to come along and be part of the morning.

Join SWAT at Gather & Co. for an informal community talk led by student dietitians, exploring simple, evidence-based ways to support your health and wellbeing.

We’ll chat about healthy eating, bone and muscle health, everyday movement and practical ways to build habits that work for you - no fads, no pressure.

Workshop 3: Stencils

Master the art of stencil design and fabric painting to create crisp, professional-looking motifs on textiles. From simple shapes to layered designs, you'll learn how to cut, position and apply stencils to achieve clean, repeatable results.

You'll learn:

Creating and cutting custom stencils

Fabric paint application techniques

Layering colours and patterns

Designing for repeat use across multiple projects

A practical and accessible technique for transforming garments, accessories and fabric projects with your own creative style.

Gather & Co. South West is a place to come together, and we’re happy to welcome D-Connect for a relaxed morning of conversation, connection and community.

Come for a chat, listen in, share your thoughts or simply enjoy being here. There’s room for everyone to join in their own way.

You will also hear more about their programs, share experiences from events you have attended, and help decide what should be looked at next. Some sessions include a short activity or a guest from a local community group, but everything is optional and designed to be welcoming and low stress.

D-Connect is built by people with disability, for people with disability. Family members, carers, friends, and community members are welcome to attend too, as long as they share the vision of making the South West a more inclusive and accessible place for everyone.

Workshop 2 Lino Printing

Learn the timeless art of lino printing and use handcrafted stamps to create beautiful repeat patterns and graphic designs on textiles. You'll design, carve and print your own lino block before applying it to fabric using textile inks. You'll learn: Designing for print Safe lino carving techniques Ink application and printing methods Creating repeat patterns and custom textile designs A versatile skill that can be used to personalise clothing, tote bags, homewares and more.

Workshop 1: Bleach Painting Discover the magic of drawing with light and contrast. In this introductory workshop, you'll learn how to safely use bleach as a creative medium to create striking designs on dark fabrics. Explore techniques for brushwork, shading, layering and pattern-making while transforming ordinary garments into one-of-a-kind statement pieces. You'll learn: Safe handling and application of bleach Basic design and composition techniques Brush and stencil methods How to create tonal effects and unique patterns Perfect for refreshing black or dark-coloured clothing and adding a bold artistic touch.
